It is a set of concrete commitments we make at the time you pay: if your visa is delayed beyond the promised window or rejected on eligible routes, VBshield automatically triggers the applicable refund to your original payment method within 5–7 business days. No claim forms. No customer-service calls.
E-Visa
100% OnlineE-Visas are submitted electronically to government portals the moment your payment is confirmed. Because disbursement is instantaneous and government fees are non-recoverable, refund eligibility is limited to scenarios within our direct control.
For destinations like Vietnam, UAE, and similar e-Visa corridors, government fees are collected and forwarded to the issuing authority within 2 hours of payment. Cancellations after this window cannot recover the government component.
United States Visa
No Refund PolicyThe United States B1/B2 and ESTA visa process involves mandatory, non-waivable government fees collected directly by the US Department of State and US Customs & Border Protection respectively. These fees are consumed at the point of application submission and cannot be recovered under any circumstances — approved, rejected, delayed, or withdrawn.
This applies to the B1/B2 Tourist Visa (MRV fee of USD 185) and the ESTA Visa Waiver Programme (USD 21). Neither the US government fee nor VisaBanana's service fee is refundable once an application has been initiated — regardless of outcome, timeline, or reason for withdrawal.
Schengen Visa
27 CountriesSchengen visa applications are processed through the respective embassy or authorised VFS Global centre. The Schengen visa fee (€80 for adults) is payable to the consulate and governed by EU Visa Code regulations. VisaBanana's service fee is subject to VBshield protections as outlined below.
The €80 Schengen consular fee is collected by VFS Global or the embassy directly and is non-refundable under EU Visa Code Article 16 regardless of outcome. VisaBanana does not retain or control this component of your payment.
UAE Visa
Express AvailableUAE tourist visas are processed electronically by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) and ICP. Approval is typically issued within 24–48 hours. Please read the overstay penalty clause carefully before applying.
If the applicant does not depart the UAE within the granted visa validity period, the UAE government imposes a mandatory overstay fine of AED 3,000 (approximately ₹67,000). This penalty is levied by the UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security and must be settled by the applicant directly. VisaBanana bears no liability for overstay fines and will not cover or waive this charge under any circumstances.
UAE tourist visas have a strict validity window from the date of issue (not arrival). The 30-day visa is valid for 60 days from issue; the 60-day visa is valid for 90 days from issue. Travel must commence and conclude within this window. Always verify your visa stamp date upon entry at the UAE port.
Instances for No Refund
Regardless of visa type or destination, the following circumstances result in no refund being issued under any component of the fee — government or service.
If an applicant proceeds with a submission despite being explicitly advised by VisaBanana against doing so — due to incomplete documents, travel history concerns, ineligibility flags, or other risk factors communicated in writing — and the visa is subsequently rejected or delayed, no refund will be applicable on any fee component. The applicant assumes full responsibility for the outcome when overriding professional guidance.
Consular authorities assess every applicant's economic standing (bank statements, employment records, income proof) and social ties (property ownership, family commitments, return intent) as part of their standard evaluation. If a visa is refused because the applicant did not meet the consulate's economic or social safety thresholds — regardless of whether VisaBanana flagged the risk — no service fee refund is applicable, as the application was correctly filed and processed on the applicant's behalf.
